The eternal story of our greatest holy superstar aka how to make your wish come true correctly
"Why are all the people touching that frame?" the tourists often ask me on the Charles Bridge already before I have time to start commenting on it myself.
Well, the frame was erected on the exact spot from which our holy superstar St. John of Nepomuk was thrown to the river more than 600 years ago. When the guards who threw him looked down, they noticed that 5 stars appeared above his head.
And so now, we believe that John of Nepomuk can make our wishes come true right at this spot. The problem is that tourist guide books often publish misleading directions about the appropriate procedure how to go about it!!
So check this out! This is the right one:
1. Place fingers on your left hand on the falling body of John of Nepomuk.
2. Place your right palm on the cross below the frame
3. Step your right foot on the golden spot on the ground.
4. Look at the St.Vitus Cathedral and think shortly about your wish. Do not say it out loud. Then, let go and let the Saint with the most statues in the world do his work.
